This trip trades convenience for scenery: sailings between these two islands are limited outside high summer, so the itinerary is built around a single crossing rather than constant movement. Folegandros is walked rather than driven, and Amorgos is given enough time to see both the western Chora and the quieter eastern port of Aegiali.

Arrive Folegandros

Ferry from Piraeus of four to seven hours, or a shorter hop from Santorini or Milos; evening in the car-free square.

Cliff paths

Walk to the church of Panagia above the town, then down to Agali beach for the afternoon.

Ano Meria

The scattered farming village at the island's far end, and matsata pasta at a family taverna.

Ferry to Amorgos

A local ferry, timetable-dependent and roughly two to three hours; evening walk up to the kastro ruins.
